Description

Tender sweet potato cubes with caramelized edges, warm cinnamon, pure maple syrup, and a lightly salty finish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 3/4-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped toasted pecans, optional

Instructions

  1. Cut evenly: Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into even 3/4-inch cubes.
  2. Season: Toss with olive oil, half of the maple syrup, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg.
  3. Preheat and arrange: Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3 minutes. Arrange the cubes in a loose single layer.
  4. Air fry: Cook for 8 minutes, shake thoroughly, then cook for 6 to 8 minutes more until browned and tender.
  5. Finish: Toss the hot cubes with the remaining maple syrup and optional pecans, then serve.

Notes

Sweet potatoes contain natural sugars and can brown quickly. Check during the final minutes and cook in batches rather than crowding.
