Description

Frozen breaded mozzarella sticks cooked straight from the freezer until crisp outside and hot and stretchy inside.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 frozen breaded mozzarella sticks
  • Nonstick cooking spray, optional
  • 1/2 cup warm marinara sauce, for serving
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated Parmesan, optional
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, optional

Instructions

  1. Keep frozen: Leave the mozzarella sticks in the freezer until the air fryer is ready. Do not thaw them.
  2. Preheat: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  3. Arrange: Place the frozen sticks in a single layer with at least 1/2 inch of space between them. Mist lightly with cooking spray only if desired.
  4. Air fry: Cook for 3 minutes, then gently roll or turn each stick.
  5. Watch closely: Cook for 2 to 3 minutes more until the breading is crisp and the first tiny spot of cheese begins to appear.
  6. Rest and serve: Remove immediately, rest for 2 minutes, and serve with warm marinara and optional Parmesan and parsley.

Notes

Brands, stick sizes, and air fryers vary. Begin checking early and remove the sticks as soon as the breading is crisp and cheese just begins to emerge.
